Baltic resort Baabe

The small, state-approved Baltic seaside resort Baabe is also often called the gateway to the Mönchgut peninsula. Located in the southeast of the island of Rügen, Baabe is without doubt in one of the most beautiful regions the island of Rügen has to offer - the Mönchgut.

If you have left the town sign and the so-called Mönchgut gate behind you on your journey, then your holiday really begins. Baabe is surrounded by water on two sides. On one side we have the vastness of the blue Baltic Sea and a white fine sandy beach that stretches to the horizon. On the other side is the Sellin Lake with the Baabe bulwark. The smallest ferry in Germany takes you from Baabe to the other side of the Baaber Bek, which is situated in front of the Sellin Lake. Cross over with the ferryman and let yourself be captivated by this little adventure trip. Baabe is characterised by its small-scale development of hotels, guesthouses and private houses. Here the guest is the focus of the family attention of his hosts.

In addition, there are numerous restaurants that offer the best selection of local fish dishes. As is well known, holidays are also for the stomach - remember that.

The Strandhotel is located in the middle of the unique biosphere reserve south-east Rügen. Not only the nature has a lot of variety to offer but also the leisure activities in Baabe and on the island of Rügen. The beach, the village and the Baabe heath invite you to enjoy. There are many more possibilities on site and also on the island. In front of the hotel there is a stop of the Bäderbahn which takes you through Baabe and its surroundings.

Popular are the Baltic Sea beach for bathing and hiking, the offers of the spa administration, other organizers, sports facilities, bicycle and hiking trails as well as the offers of your hotel.

What would a stay on Rügen be without the excursions on foot, by bike, with the narrow-gauge railway, by car or bus.

Rügen - excursion destinations everywhere

The Strandhotel is located on the bathing coast in the southeast of the island of Rügen. Due to the location of the Baltic seaside resort Baabe on the narrowest part of the Mönchgut, hiking trails, roads, cycle paths and bus lines lead through the village to the well-known destinations on the island.

The numerous excursion possibilities to the natural beauties of Rügen and events offer you a lot of variety.

Fitness and sports on the island of Rügen

Recovery also includes a portion of exercise or sports, depending on how fit you are. Cyclists and hikers will find a well-developed network of paths in Baabe and the surrounding area. A hike through the Zicker Mountains or through the beech forests of the Granitz to the Black Lake is particularly recommended.
Also the fine sandy Baltic Sea beach, which is only 200 metres away, has its charms in every season. Whether it is in summer for swimming, diving, beach volleyball and surfing or in the other seasons for fishing, hiking, jogging and Nordic walking.
